10 Reasons for a Spring Wedding
There are so many things we love about spring. After a long winter, the warmer temperatures and spring sunshine are welcomed – as is the landscape, as gardens transform with new colour and fragrance. It’s changes like these that make the season perfect for a wedding, along with a whole host of other perks…
1. A choice of swoon-worthy colour palettes
With combinations including rose quartz and Chantilly blue; blush and gold, and mint and yellow, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to your wedding colours. The lighter, brighter tones of spring are oh-so-feminine and bound to make any wedding look chic.

2. Casual eats and relaxed dining
With the temperatures a little milder, it’s the perfect time of year to head outside. Warm up guests for the season ahead with a delicious barbecue. Soak up the atmosphere as chefs cook up an Asian feast outside. You’ve also got a great excuse to serve up ice cream treats or tasty cream teas from a fab food truck.

3. Suppliers are less in-demand than in the summer
Got your eye on a leading local photographer? Left some of your supplier bookings until the last minute? If you’re getting wed in spring, it will be a little easier to secure your favourite suppliers. Unlike the summer months, where you’ll find some suppliers getting booked up two years in advance, spring wedding dates are more widely available. With more availability come potential discounts too!

4. Venues are in full bloom
What better backdrop for your wedding photos than a glorious venue in full bloom? During the spring months, gardens are usually at their best. There’s plenty of colour and visual interest – both adding to the charm and romance of your day.

5. Plenty of great honeymoon destinations to choose from
If, like most newlyweds, you’re planning a honeymoon straight after the wedding, you’re in luck. Spring is one of the best times to get away. Prices are still reasonable – as the kids aren’t on their holidays yet – and a huge number of destinations are at their best too. Visit Japan during its famous cherry blossom season; head to Florida’s theme parks for some early summer sun, or take it easy on one of Europe’s gorgeous beaches. It’s a great time for a UK-based mini-moon too.

6. Huge range of bouquet choices
The spring bride is spoilt for choice when it comes to her wedding flowers. There are so many beautiful blooms available, meaning you can pick flowers in season that are local to you too. Whether you’ve adopted a soft, muted colour scheme or something more vibrant, you’ll find the perfect flowers for your wedding. We love narcissi, hyacinths, ranunculus and anemone… to name but a few.

7. It’s synonymous with ‘new beginnings’
There’s something extra special about getting married during the spring months. As it’s all about rebirth and renewal, it’s the best season to start your next chapter together as a married couple.

8. The perfect temperature
Let’s face it, most of us dream of a wedding day that’s sunny and mild yet not too hot or too cold. Spring offers some of the best British weather and comfortable temperatures – ensuring your man’s not too hot in his suit and you’re not shivering in your dress.

9. Better availability on wedding dates
During the summer months, it can be difficult to secure a weekend wedding date – with some couples reserving dates years in advance. In spring, however, you’ll have a much better selection of dates – especially if you book 12 months in advance. Venues may offer discounts too on certain spring wedding dates – so there’s really nothing to lose!

10. An opportunity for an al fresco affair
Dreaming of an outdoor ceremony in picturesque gardens and grounds? Spring is one of the best seasons to get married outside – with the temperature just right and surroundings in full bloom. A selection of our venues have an outdoor ceremony license – and those that don’t still allow you to enjoy a glorious drinks reception outside.
