Located in the rural village of Aldermaston, close to Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke, Wasing Park is a luxury Berkshire wedding venue set in stunning 18th-century parkland. On arrival at Wasing Park, couples will be enchanted by the picturesque and elegant estate; a collection of historical buildings set in charming Berkshire countryside. Imaginative and inviting, Wasing Park is a wonderful wedding venue with an individual style; a stunning Victorian Summerhouse, a Castle Barn and superb accommodation options.
Wedding preparations can begin in Kitts Cottage. Perfect for pre-wedding pampering, this quaint country cottage offers plenty of space to enjoy a Champagne supper or beauty treatments the night before the big day and get a good night's sleep before the main celebrations commence. Hair and make-up can begin early before moving over to Wasing Park's Honeymoon Suite from midday to take care of the final touches. There is also use of The Morning Room as an additional preparation space on the morning of the wedding.
When it comes to ceremonies, Wasing Park offers a number of options including the Garden Room, Victorian Summerhouse and St Nicolas’s church. The Garden Room is a light and contemporary building set within the pretty walled gardens at Wasing Park. With wonderful windows that flood the space with natural daylight, white walls, wooden floors and distinctive glass ceiling lights, the Garden Room offers a modern ambiance for the exchanging of vows. For a more traditional, religious ceremony, the picturesque parish church of St Nicolas sits with the grounds at Wasing Park. A fabulous 15th Century chapel that boasts an authentic exterior, stunning stained glass windows and a white timber-clad turret which is home to a historic cast iron bell that is still rung today. For an alfresco ceremony, the Victorian Summerhouse is a stunning location. Sitting within the Terrace Garden it is surrounded by luscious green lawns and offers breathtaking views of the grounds. The interior of the Victorian Summerhouse has been painted by renowned muralist Clarissa Parish who has carefully hand-painted flowers, cherry trees in bloom, birds and butterflies, creating a colourful and vibrant mural, which makes for a pretty backdrop to wedding photos.
The focal point of Wasing Park is the fabulous Castle Barn; with a contemporary and chic interior, it works exceptionally well for the wedding breakfast and evening party. The entrance is impressive, with a red brick castle-style tower and arched glass doorway. Blending traditional design features, such as exposed brick walls with arrow slits allowing for candles and oak beams, with modern Italian mood lighting, the Castle Barn is a special space that sets the scene for a wonderfully romantic day.
Wasing Park also offers spectacular boutique overnight accommodation on the estate. Starting with the Honeymoon Suite, this space boasts possibly the biggest bed in Berkshire and is a breathtakingly beautiful bedroom. A former hay loft, it has retained many of its original features including magnificent beams and offers wonderful views of the garden and an amazingly luxurious bathroom.
Next are the Old Estate Rooms. These are the perfect place for guests to relax after the excitement of the day and offer absolute luxury in the form of nine elegant suites which are ideal for the closest of friends and family. Also exuding romance are The Dovecote, The Smithy, The Granary and The Coach House which offer further fabulous and distinctive suites with individual touches such as triangular shaped beds, mezzanines and free standing copper baths. Finally, an additional 17 beautifully appointed bedrooms are available in The Stables, The Mews and The Pump House. If further accommodation is still required, subject to availability and situated on separate areas of the Estate are two self- catering properties; The Bothy, a two-bedroom cottage in the Secret Walled Garden, and Home Farm which is just a short walk from the venue.
