Autumn Colour Schemes – Brown
Yes, we know, the thought of a brown wedding doesn’t exactly fill you with excitement. We weren’t excited either… until we started thinking about all the wonderful shades that combine so perfectly with brown to make a rather dreamy wedding. So, if you’re looking for a little inspiration, take a look at these lovely colour matches, all featuring brown as the main shade.

Brown and… blue
These two colours co-ordinate perfectly, with brown as a perfect accompaniment to all shades of blue, from powder blue to navy.

Use blue as your main colour, for bridesmaid dresses, stationery and flowers, and introduce brown in the details such as table linen, ribbons and shoes.

Sometimes you really don’t need to do much to introduce a colour. In this elegant wedding, chairs and base plates are in brown, while the water glasses offer a splash of blue.

If you plan to use a softer shade of blue, keep the brown delicate too. The two paler colours work well together, without one overshadowing the other.

Brown and… green
We have to admit, this is one of our favourite colour combinations and a great choice throughout the year. We’re particularly fond of bright, lush green and brown for the spring, or even a July or August wedding.

Brown and green work wonderfully with pure white for an uncluttered, romantic, rustic theme. Long tables featuring a brown runner, greenery, white china and white pillar candles create a stunning look.

Stick to nature when it comes to your cake, using a wooden cake stand and adorning white icing with fresh leaves or herbs.

Brown and… pink
Staying on the brown wedding theme, this is one of the prettiest colour combos with brown working so well with all hues of pink. Pastel pink and chocolate brown are cute as a button, while magenta and deep brown are a fabulous duo for an evening celebration. Copper and dusky pink are very ‘on trend’.

You don’t need to hunt for brown flowers. Instead, stand your vases on pieces of wood, introducing the theme of nature to your day. This also raises the flowers adding height to the centerpieces.
